MAGAZINES IN NEW YORK CITY

There are hundreds of different popular magazines covering virtually any topic from Archeology to Generation X, plus hundreds of professional journals. Here we just list magazines relating to New York City. The most popular weekly news magazines are Newsweek, Time Magazine, and US News and World Report.

The magazines that cover NYC are the following:

New York - weekly, comes out on Mondays. Good for fashion, politics, food, arts, entertainment and what is happening in NYC.

The New Yorker - weekly, which has a high reputation for arts coverage and in-depth articles on politics and culture.

Paper - monthly, which has news about clubs, insider views on style and NY society.

Time Out New York - weekly, the bible of NYC entertainment with descriptions of theater, clubs, art events weekly.

Where to Buy US and Foreign Magazines
In general the best places to buy popular US and foreign magazines are in the two mega-bookstores: Barnes & Nobles and Border's (see BOOKSTORES), Hudson Newsstands (see NEWSSTANDS), and surprisingly Tower Records (see, MUSIC STORES). Corner newsstands, card shops and candy stores carry a narrower selection of US magazines, and often foreign magazines and newspapers reflecting the "home land" of the local residents as well as "erotic" magazines.
