The shops listed in this category primarily sell cut flowers and house plants and create and deliver flower arrangements. Some do floral design and decorating for events. The open air flower markets have a beautiful selection of flowers and arrangements at discount.
When to give: Flowers are usually given as a thank-you gift for special effort to a colleague or staff member, to your hostess after a visit, when going for dinner, or to commemorate a birthday, anniversary, or any special occassion.
Flowers are also given when there is a death. It is not unusual, however, for family members of the deceased to ask that a donation be made to a particual charity "in lieu of flowers".
Flowers for the season and occasion: Traditionally, daffodils or lilies in the spring or Easter, pointsettias at Christmas time as a gift. Flowers, especially roses, are also given as a symbol of affection or love.
