The weather forecast is published every morning in the newspapers. The New York Times gives a summary on the upper right hand corner of the front page. The section and page number for a full weather reports is also given here.
On TV, the Weather Channel 10 broadcasts only the weather: local, national, travel, and international. Channel 17 broadcasts weather and travel for Long Island. Most other stations broadcast the weather along with the morning and evening news.
The weather and traffic are broadcast every 10 minutes (i.e. 10:08, 10:18 etc.) on CBS News 880 AM and on News 1010 AM. Most other stations broadcast the news and weather on the hour.
TYPNote: The temperature or weather is usually given for a certain location in NYC. For example, on the radio you might hear "the temperature in Central Park is ..." On web sites the weather and television news, the weather is reported from JFK or La Guardia Airports.
